Yoga Class

Pilates has many benefits for children and teenagers, helping to build all-over flexibility, improving core/ joint strength and posture.

If you child is into a sport or dance, Pilates is a perfect add-on to support other activities, reducing risk of injury and helping them excel in their activity. It improves coordination and athletic ability.

I wish I’d had Pilates as a sporty, hypermobile teen, it would have made a big difference.

The amount of time spent doing schoolwork and the use of electronic devises means poor posture is common, and may lead to long term postural issues. Pilates, with its focus on body awareness and developing strength in postural muscles, is an ideal form of exercise to counteract this.

Pilates is recommended by physiotherapists for children with hypermobility and scoliosis, both of which I have specific training.

Pilates is also a great mental exercise, improving focus and concentration: skills that are useful at school. They will also leave the classes feeling calmer and more confident in their bodies.

My Teens Group classes, are aimed at 12 – 16 year olds when the body is changing from child to adult and they can generally become less active. The classes will offer a non-competitive exercise environment, with the focus on individual physical development at a pace that suits them.

Class will be suitable for both boys and girls

I’m qualified to teach children and teens from 5-16 years so I have a good understanding of their physical and mental development. I also have previous experience teaching and guiding children as a mountain biking instructor.

I am fully DBS checked.
